Under a Rock, Like Always

I'm not big on joining. At all. This whole social networking thing has been going on pretty much without me. Until now. Yesterday I got an IM from an old friend from college who I'd lost track of asking me to join Facebook. Geez that's a time sucker.

Anyhoo, actually lots of people from college and high school that I knew. It makes all that crap seem like AGES ago. Not that I didn't have fun or whatever, it just seems like a very long time ago. So weird to see all of these faces. So do I have to become “friends” with these people to see their profile thingy? And where the heck is the friend who invited me. He's disappeared again. Can't find him. What gives?!?!

  1. Yeah it seems like a different lifetime to hear from people in a different part of your life. But I am up there. But I don't go on their or myspace very often.

  2. Yes, Facebook is so addicting. Much more fun than myspace, too. You do have to be friends with someone to see their profile. Kinda sucks, but I think it helps prevent “stalkers” a bit. If you want to add me, just look me up by my e-mail.

  3. I've got a Facebook account, but it seems that way more people that I know in real life have MySpace…so I have both. It really is a time waster at first, but after a while there's not much left to do on there except correspond with friends.

  4. I don't have a facebook account, but I do have a myspace. It was the only was to keep up with a friend that I really am still friends with. I hardly ever use it, though. I also don't have any pictures of me in “sexy poses” or with a snake or something. Hee, hee.

  5. Facebook is fun. I've gotten back in touch with quite a few friends thanks to it, plus that's where all of us wine bloggers somehow ended up, so I use the groups feature a lot for networking. It's a lot less creepy than MySpace, too.

  6. I only very recently joined; I'd lost track of a few friends when they moved and switched ISPs, so it was the best way to stay connected. But I'm not stalking the people I went to high school or uni with. If I wanted to stay in touch, I would have in th first place. But Facebook is a fun place to play Scrabble

  7. I think that I asked you to join, eh? I hope you like it!

I have my profile hidden away, people can see my name and a few things, but that's about it. I'm so secret agent about things like that.
