Planned Induction

After being poked and prodded by the lovely nurses at my doc's office yesterday, Matt and I were sitting there chewing the fat and such when the doctor knocked and entered the room. After sundry pleasantries, she casually says, “I've scheduled you for induction on Friday morning.” My BP was good yesterday, but thanks to all of the ups and downs and proteins and swellings and whatnot, she wants to go ahead and get this thing moving along. So 8 AM on Friday we get the ball rolling.

After having time to let all of this sink in, I'm feeling pretty good about it. I like the “end in sight” aspect a lot, I must admit. So that's the deal. Think happy healthy delivery thoughts for us!!She also examined me and found that I am 2 cm dialated and 75% effaced, which according to her makes me a good candidate for induction. She also stripped my membranes which didn't really hurt too much in my case, but mainly made me bleed and cramp quite a bit.

Now I'm off to work to finish up a couple of things.

  1. In a way, I think that it must be kind of nice to *know* when you'll deliver. The anticipation with Luke and Meredith was *totally* killing me! hehe But with stripping the membranes, maybe you'll go into labor on your own before then? Oh, I'm so excited for you! Yay!

  2. The same thing happened to me with Brianna! I was induced one day after my due date. It was nice to know exactly when it was going to happen. I was able to shower and be ready that morning. Ok, I'll emal you in a bit. How exciting!

  3. Sorry for the comments … haha … but I was born on a Friday. They say that Friday's child is “loving and giving …” I just thought about that poem.

  4. Good luck good luck! I have been following you since you first found out you were pregnant.. Can't wait to see pics of the little girl! Best wishes.

  5. Woohoo…hopefully happy baby by now…or at least very, very close. Told ya it would be this weekend ;0) No reason to wait when you're that inducable.

  6. We were trying to guess the babys name tonight knowing you were in labor. We came up with …
moonstone..rowinia..buffalo… (think about it) but we finally arrived at a choice for you that can't miss…………..It's Pumper Nichols. I hope you read this in time!

  7. This is a note from Jess' mom. Our baby girl joined the family at 4:20 a.m. today. She is precious and she and Jess are doing well. Jess or Matt will be posting pictures soon, but just wanted everyone to know that they are all doing well and they can fill you in on all the details later.
