Not at the Cinema

Since last week, I've made a point of finding and adding movies to my Netflix Q. And I've been pretty successful at it. Here are some of the ones I've added. Let me know if you've seen them and if you liked them or not. And BTW, I LOVED 40 Year Old Virgin. One of the best/funniest movies I've seen in a long time.

Spirited Away -During her family's move to the suburbs, Chihiro wanders into a magical world where a witch rules — and those who disobey her are turned into animals. When her parents are turned into pigs, Chihiro must find a way to help them return to their human form.

The Best of Youth – This sprawling Italian drama sweeps from the '60s to the 21st century, tracking the journey of two brothers, Nicola and Matteo. The two take different paths: After traveling, Nicola becomes a successful psychiatrist, while Matteo becomes a policeman intent on catching criminals. Their politics diverge as well, straining the family bond.Domino – An intriguing action thriller based on the life of Domino Harvey , the offspring of actor Laurence Harvey and model Pauline Stone. Blessed with her mother's beautiful face, Domino eschews a career in the fashion industry for a life as a bounty hunter. This one is in the Q cuz Matt wants to see more of his girlfriend, Kiera.

Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price – Producer, director and activist Robert Greenwald takes aim at the corporate giant that's come to symbolize big business in America: Wal-Mart. Blasting the box-store Goliath for allegedly paying substandard wages, skimping on employee health benefits and eviscerating communities, this hard-hitting, emotional documentary profiles the struggle of everyday folks from around the country who've committed themselves to fighting the mega-retailer.

The Bourne Supremacy – When a CIA sting in Berlin turns murderously wrong, everyone suspects it's the handiwork of Jason Bourne. As the CIA hunts for their lost ex-killer Bourne, Bourne himself is pursued by a ruthless cartel bent on framing him up — and leaving him dead. And my boyfriend Matt Damon stars in this one

Saint Ralph – Ralph is a typical teenager with atypical questions, the largest of which concerns his mother. She's fallen into a coma, and the 14-year-old has set his sights on winning the 1954 Boston Marathon in a makeshift barter with God to make his mother well. His teacher, Father Hibber wants to encourage his dream, but in doing so, he goes up against the reserved, ever-realistic Father Fitzpatrick. This kid's mom better not die. I hate sad movies.

Space Camp – A group of bright but incorrigible high school students go to the NASA SpaceCamp intending to take the first steps in becoming astronauts. But they get more than they ever dreamed – or feared – when a frightening miscommunication sends the teens and their astronaut instructor into orbit, leaving them to negotiate the hazards of space and return safely. This sounds like a Bad 80s movie if there ever was one … and I haven't seen it! Count me in.

American Pie Presents: Band Camp – The guardians of good taste behind the American Pie franchise dish up a new recipe for ribald humor with this bawdy tale of teen shenanigans. As punishment for his offenses, Stifler's younger brother, Matt, is sentenced to a summer at band camp. A chip off the family block, the junior horndog tumbles through a series of outrageous escapades involving hidden cameras, riotous pranks and, of course, plenty of female flesh. Guilty pleasure. Don't judge.

The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio – With 10 children to feed, postwar Ohio housewife Evelyn Ryan has gotten used to being resourceful, stretching her husband's meager salary to the limit. But when clipping coupons won't cut it, she's forced to rely on her creativity and enters a jingle-writing contest for extra income.

  1. Glad you enjoyed 40 Year Old Virigin. Do you watch The Office-NBC I forget? St. Ralph and Spirited Away is on my list. I want to see them

  2. I've only seen a couple of eps. of the office. They're pretty funny, but I'll have to watch on DVD because it airs same time as something else The OC … I know .. the shame.
