Randomness

So … I guess no one really did care about my Google reader sharing. Hahahaha. Oh well!

My thoughts are really scattered right now. I'm going through one of my overwhelmed phases. I feel like there's just not enough time for anything and I can't get it all done … not what I need to get done and definitely not what I want to get done. It will pass … it always does. And not because things are any better together; just because I'm not being neurotic.

Matt is going away this weekend which is a big bummer in my book. Since we sort of missed out on the past two weekends with illness, I feel like I've been very deprived of his company and it sucks. We both miss him a lot when he's gone. We want some time to hang out as a family.

I had some fun playing with the camera tonight. Using the Lens Baby again. I do like the Lens Baby, but man, it is not meant for keeping up with an almost-toddler (can't call her a toddler yet, it's too painful). It is WAY too slow to focus and get all lined up. Much better for things that don't move.

And speaking of Tabby's impending Toddlerhood, I am still way behind on party planning. I think we're going to do a purple and green theme, since it's been a purple and green sort of year and besides, she hasn't formed any attachments to commercial characters yet and I figure I should probably take advantage of that while I can. But I need to spend some time getting ideas, etc. together. Anyone wanna send me links or suggest things?

OK … shutting up now!

  1. first see if a local grocery store gives away free little cakes… if so use that for her to destroy… also have 2 outfits for the day lol…

We tried doing a theme… and ended up themeless lol… We wanted a LEGO party… but just too much work to figure it out lol… so sticking to colors will work great… and so much easier lol…

but you could do pokadots or stripes or something like simple and easy to match in those colors… hehehe… GL

  2. Definately have two outfits ready for that day. For Brianna's first birthday I went with pink/yellow and teddy bears for the theme. For Alec, it was basic colors (green, red, blue, yellow and orange) but the theme was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. I think that's been my favorite so far. We bought a few of the books, made a caterpillar cake made, had antennea for the kids instead of party hats, and wrote random lines from the book in the invitations and thank-you cards.
Oooohhh! Children's parties are the BEST!

  3. Oh gosh I was looking for links for you and in the beginning only found Barney and Mardi Gras themes. LOL.

But if you like jelly beans you can have purple and green jelly beans, or m & m's with Tabby's name as souvenours or purple and green skittles. Yeah I know a bit of working picking out the colors.

Perhaps little cupcakes with violets on them since they have purple flowers with green stems?

I guess this could be purple and green?

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier I appreciate any encouragement I can get! When Lani turned “1” we had a farm animal party. It was easy enough to find things for it, but we didn't have to go the cartoon character route.

  5. You could make Tabby's party a “tea party” theme and still incorporate the purple & green colors. Sheets of 12×12 scrapbooking paper in purple & green prints would make great placemats. And send people home with dollar store teacups filled with purple & green candies and teabags (for the grown-ups).

I am sooo jealous of your Lens Baby… looks like you're getting some great shots with it!
