Tabby Talk

Cuz I know all y'all really just come here to read about my vastly superior and exceedingly cute kid (there is sarcasm, here, people, no comments on my arrogance, please!!), I thought I'd share some recent Tabby-isms with you.

In this, her 10th month, we are really starting to see her personality emerge. I'm know it's always been there, but she just hasn't had all the tools to express it. There were a couple instances this past weekend that caused us to laugh out loud. When were cleaning up the condo and getting ready to leave, Mom had Tabby sitting on the counter with her sippy cup, hanging out. Tabby loves to sit on the counter and see what's going on. I guess she got bored or something because she decided to roll her sippy off the counter. So mom picked it up for her and gave it back. A few minutes later, the little minx gives a repeat performance and once it hits the ground and we all look at her, she gives us this big grin and claps her hands together (of course the juice went allll over the floor). It was so hard not to laugh.

Later, as we were driving back into Denver, we stopped at Beau Jo's for pizza. Tabby generally loves pizza, so we cut up a slice into little pieces and put it on a plate for her. She was kinda dawdling with her eating, so Mom and I were feeding her little bites with our hands. She liked the first couple of bites and then seemed to get cranky. Sometimes she gets cranky because she's not getting fed fast enough, so we kept feeding her. After a couple more bites, she spit out her pizza and smashed her open hand on it a couple times as if to say “Bad Pizza!!!” Matt ad-libbed for her and we all cracked up.

I think we're in for a wild ride with this little monkey … hehe. She cut two teeth!!! Finally!!! I thought she'd be gumming stuff well into kindergarten. But there are two razor-sharp little lines of white on her bottom gums. The crazy thing is, that after chewing on everything in sight and whining, etc. for a long time before this, the teeth came in largely without our noticing.

I have no photos yet, cuz it's a dangerous business making that kid open her mouth.

  1. Isn't it so funny how their personality has just suddenly emerged that much more? The Mini is currently looking at me with this cheesy flirty grin, in all his Dimetapp haze. He's so funny.

  2. hehehe… that is so funny about the drink and the pizza… and cheer for toothers… rubbing the gums when they are that close helps to get them in sooner… just drug her first lol…

  3. She is absolutely ADORABLE!! Looks and sounds like she will be quite a character and lots of fun.

She has the same binky as jackson. It is the only one he will take and we only have one of them. I guard and protect that thing with my life. I don't know what would happen if it ever got lost!

  4. So cute! Q loves pizza too; when she gets bored (often, during a meal esp…), she'll mash the pizza in her hands and then run them through her hair. Nice! Anyway, I love that you have a wild little monkey, as we do too. Fun!!
