Monday Monday

Now we know what happens when she gets her naps. She had two naps yesterday, one with me in the AM and one with her daddy in the afternoon, both good long naps. When we put her to bed at 8:30 (already a while after her normal bedtime), she would have none of it. She layed there and talked to herself for a while and then started fussing. So we let her get up and watch Ugly Betty with us. This photo was taken around 9:55. Does she look tired to you? I went to bed at 10. I think she went to sleep by 10:30. Cheeky baby.

Pretty nice weekend. We did nexto nothing on Fri night. I went to bed at 9:15, though I wanted to go to bed around 8. Matt went to a woodworking show on Saturday while I went Christmas shopping with the girls. Tabby was a sweet happy baby the whole day. Sunday Matt was supposed to go shooting with the guys, but ended up having to do a work thing. Tabby and I did our grocery shopping, etc. and ran a couple of errands and we spent the rest of the day doing the boring Sunday stuff … laundry and such. Glad it's a short week, people!

And last, but certainly not least, a HUGE shout out of CONGRATS to my good bloggy buddy, Ani, who is expecting her first baby!! I'm so excited for her.

Photo Blogging Nov 07

I'm joining Shanny and many others in photo blogging today and maybe tomorrow.

It's going to be a fascinating day for sure … breakfast and files and maybe even highlighters. Stay tuned. The fun never stops!

What Tabby wants for Christmas …

I keep getting asked what Tabby wants for Christmas. Though I started her a wishlist on Amazon, the whole thing seems kid of silly to me, cuz honestly, the things Tabby wants most, you just can't buy.

Tabby's Christmas List (as translated by mummy)
♥ for the grownups around me to stop changing my clothes whenever I get messy … this greatly infringes on my playtime/mobility
♥ to be able to eat ALL of my food with my own hands, no matter how messy it is
♥ to have everyone's undivided attention every waking moment
♥ to get a nice cuddle when something frightens me
♥ for Loki to slow down for a minute so I can “pet” him
♥ a trip to the zoo or anyplace else where there's nothing but interesting things to look at
♥ to be able to chew on anything I happen to pick up
♥ all baths, no showers
♥ another bite of that ice cream stuff

Tasty Salmon Puree

from: Annabel Karamel's site

Ingredients
200g carrots, topped and tailed and sliced
125g salmon fillet, skinned
60ml orange juice
40g grated Cheddar cheese
a knob of butter
2 tbsp milk

Directions
Put the carrots into a saucepan, cover with water, bring to the boil and cook over a medium heat for about 20 minutes until tender. Alternatively, place the vegetables in a steamer and cook for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, place the salmon in a suitable dish, pour over the orange juice and scatter over the cheese. Cover, leaving an air vent and microwave on high for about 2 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork . Alternatively, cover with foil and cook in a pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes.

Flake the fish with a fork, carefully removing any bones. Drain the carrots, mix with the butter and milk and puree in a blender together with the flaked fish and its sauce. For older babies, mash the carrots together with the butter and the milk and then mix the flaked fish with the mashed carrots.

IOU …

a post about the cool stuff that I've seen in the not too distant past. I've been collecting it, but haven't had time to put it all together. I've got a few right now. Here's what I've come up with …

You can hardly help but lurve Chow's Neo Slacker Thanksgiving. The faux Rockwell is priceless and the recipes sound delicious … and not so much your typical Thanksgiving fair. The overall site is pretty darn neat as well. It may have to become a daily read.

Gross as it is, we have that musty towel smell in our house. Here's the way to get rid of it! I knew you had to use vinegar … I just didn't know how.

My neurotic Martha side (the one that nags me to pick stuff up before bed and wags a finger at me when I use canned … anything) cannot help but love Organized Home. Their printable forms section just about makes her faint from giddiness. Yea, a favorite for sure. Just wish they'd do a site re-design.

Speaking of nerdy home organization stuff, I recently ran across (maybe even off a link from Organized Home) these freezer cooking printable labels. I love their sleek Martha design. Now does someone want to come over and cook me up some casseroles?

Always a sucker for cookbooks, I cannot resist the printable cookbooks I found on All Recipes.com. There's one for Back to School, Halloween and Summer. Hopefully they'll keep adding to this excellent collection.

And speaking of cookbooks, one of my most favorite cookbook authors, Molly Katzen, of Moosewood fame, recently came out with a veggie dishes cookbook. I'm very excited to see what it's like.

Oh and while we're still on the food stuff, as if you need another reason to visit NYC, here's an article all about this year's Chocolate show. My sis went a few years back and said it was amazing. I think this would be better than going to E3 or MacWorld or ComicCon or umm… pretty much any of that nerd stuff. Continue reading “IOU …”

MoBlogging in Style

So… I did it, guys. Finally took that smart phone plunge. Yay! I am sitting on my couch, blogging away which I suppose I can do on my laptop, but with this guy, I can blog from like… the Broncos Game or something. hehe

So I bought the HTC Mogul. E'mail, web, 2 MP camera phone, games, etc. Cool cool cool. Best part? After rebates, my company's PDA reimbursement plan and the aforementioned Discover Card deal, I will pay around $60 for the phone. I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm cheap like that.

Now I just have to figure out how to use it as a phone. haha.
