Fixin and Packin

Yesterday we spent the greater part of the day cleaning out the sunroom. The sunroom is where I keep all of my art/craft stuff, so it was a huge undertaking. The main reason we tackled it is because we had to fix the cabinet where my craft/art stuff is stored, so it would have been silly to empty it to fix it, reload it and then repack it in a couple of weeks. But crafty stuff is lots and lots of stuff. And it has to be sorted and organized and packed in boxes within boxes and … it took us forever.

It was kinda fun, though. We got to look through some stuff that we hadn't gotten to look through in a while. For instance, we took out our respnse cards from our wedding. They were largely just boring slips of paper that told us who was coming and who wasn't. But some of them had sweet/funny notes on them. So those were good to look at.

  1. Ahhh…moving! Can be quite the challenge…but well worth it! Good luck w/ the move to Golden. I actually like the foothills. At least there is a little more shopping in the Golden area now…back in 1996…they were just starting to build some shopping centers near 6th Ave West. Have fun!

  2. It 's fun finding old ephemera and such. Even if they are just boring slips of paper, they do job the memories and remind you of what was going on then. Fun!

  3. Oh my, it has grown! Last time I set foot in CO was 2002 and we went straight to Vail. I mostly grew up in Lakewood – went to HS there – but we lived in almost every town outside Denver, it seemed. Went to DU for a while before I moved East and lived down by Gov's Park in Downtown for a while. I like being by the water, but I really do miss the mountains. You're gonna have so much fun. And I hear the job market is better there. Hopefully the traffic has not gotten too, too bad. I can't wait to hear about your new adventures in the Rockies.

  4. WOW…how long did it take fo organize all of your crafty stuff? I'll be in the same boat as you as soon as we buy a house and I have to go through all my things here and the things that I never took with me from my parent's house
