Grilled cheese is quite possibly one of my fave foods of all time. I love the simplicity of it. Even more, I love the endless combinations between cheese, bread, and extras. Yum. So when my mom found out about Chedd's, I was more than anxious to try it. Finally we got our chance last night. After Matt picked me up from work, we hit the Littleton location for some FAB grilled cheese.
They truly have an amazing selection of cheese and breads and such and they grill them up perfectly. Matt had jalepeno havarti with bacon on focaccia and I had bacon, avacado and monty jack on vienna white. Both were amazing. We also shared some of their tomato bisque which was great as well. We will definitely be back. Now they just need to add apples and raisin bread to their menu of possibilities. 
After we got home last night we enjoyed a great episode of Good Eats courtesy of our prodigal Tivo where he featured “pocket pies.” This of course is a euphamism for turnovers, calzones, pyrokies, pasties, and the like. Very interesting stuff. Now I am planning the attack of the pocket pies.
That is awesome you have someplace like that by you. I meant to watch the episode of Good Eats but my brain was a bit foggy. heh heh.
I was reading your post as fast as I could trying to get to the soup part. You just have to have a great soup with grilled cheese. Yum……

Pooh! There's not a Chedd's location near where I live. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, though. I'll give them a try if I'm ever in those parts of town. I LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches. Hopefully they will expand.
My hubby is the self-proclaimed cheese king. This man loves cheese! Wish we had one near us!
