Wedding Pics this Time

Another day, another installment of vacation photos. These are all pre-wedding and wedding photos. They actually start on Thursday at the nail salon and end at the reception … they're incredibly scattered, but I think pretty self-explanatory.

The wedding was a very nice catholic service (merged into a mass) and the reception was in a 20s style ballroom at Embassy suites (built ca. 2002 ). It was a lovely wedding … the bride and groom both seem very happy.

Beach Vacation

Well, I've started the process of uploading photos. I'm doing them in 2 sets (maybe 3) since it was a long trip. I put up the beach photos last night. I didn't get as many as I'd hoped, but there are a few nice ones. You can see them here.

Glad to be Back

The beach was wonderful. The sister's married. The wedding was beautiful. We had a really really great time. We're both totally exhausted. I will post some more pictures soon … so so so glad to be back.

Doodle

Whenever I get bored in meetings or my brain needs to work independently to fix a bug in my code, I doodle. This might be my signature doodle … or the style of my signature doodles. Wonder what this says about my personality?

Backpack … mmm… Yes

I was surfing around for a good father's day gift on Think Geek when I came upon the unique object pictured at the right. Think Geek might have finally out-geeked themselves…. Now Master Yoda can come with you everywhere, showing you the ways of the force, just like he did for Luke … yes … mmmm.

Other things on Think Geek that I lurve:
* Darth Tater, Spud Trooper, and Artoo Potatoo
* a Blue LED faucet light that makes the water coming out of your tap look blue
* a glue gun that won't burn your fingers
* USB beverage chiller
* a wi-fi enabled pet

Joe's Goals

Joe's Goals has to be my favorite new site in a long time. The concept is so simple, but so elegantly pulled off, you're bound to love it too. Here's the deal: you sign up for an account (takes SECONDS, really), and then enter daily goals … things to do or avoid doing … like working out (to do) or watching TV (something to avoid). When you do something you're supposed to do, you get a point and when you do something you're not supposed to do, you get a point subtracted. You can share goals with friends and keep track of your points, possibly for a reward when you reach a certain point value. Pretty cool … one feature I'd like to see added is assigning different point values to different goals … working out surely isn't the same value as taking a vitamin… but anyhoo, vair vair vair cool.

I Pine

My infatuation with cruisers has been a long one. I LOVE them. I love their retro styling. I love their bright colors. I love their simplicity. I dream of spending a month on The Cape, staying in a lovely place on the beach and riding my cruiser everywhere … ahhh. Back to reality. I still haven't bought one … but that will soon change. Though I like pink, I never approved of the overly little girl pinky shades that they tend to sell cruisers in. And while I like blue (another common girly cruiser color), my adored mountain bike is also blue. But I have found the perfect cruiser for me.. Electra's Hawaii deluxe. It is so coming home with me.

Picasa Upgrades

I am a huge fan of Google's photo management software, Picasa. But sadly, it was always lacking a little web cool. It just sat there on your computer, not interacting with the rest of the world … and as we all know, there's such great potential for that, especially with photos. Well in their latest upgrade, Google has added the capacity to upload your photo albums to the web … but the upgrade is sort of lacking. Continue reading “Picasa Upgrades”
