My grandma's memorial service is today. In preparation for it, I have been dealing with all of the photos that she collected over her lifetime. Thanks to the effords of my parents and myself, we now have a repository of family photos from approx 1940 on … about 300 images. Of course there were many more, but we picked the really good ones to archive.
Seems like every spare moment has been consumed touching-up, cropping, rotating, categorizing, and labeling photos. I'm still not done, but it's much closer than it was. It's been loads of hard work, but it's really worthwhile to have all of these images captured digitally and available for our whole family. And that's worth a ton.
Now I need a 5-day nap.

I'm sure you all have seen the cool things that you can do with Snapfish and Kodak Gallery, but you may not yet have seen
Welcome to the final week of Blogger Parade of Homes! This week features our outdoor spaces. Other than our balconies and front yard, which I've already shown, all that remains is our little back yard. It's mainly a patio with a side-yard, but that suits us well because neither of us likes to cut the grass or do much gardening. The back yard opens from our family room and runs back along the garage … our garage is in the back of the house at the alleyway, so that's the side of the garage you see there and the alley way behind. The furniture we got from Target and this photo was taken right after we got it, which is good because it hasn't held up well between “the elements” and our dear doggie. The umbrella and lights still look great though! On the right there's a little ledge … that is the fire pit (which I don't have a good photo of, sorry) which is gas, making it very convenient to warm up chilly fall nights.

The valances came with the house and match a comforter and a billion pillows they left us. I don't love them, but they're not awful. I do love our duvet set which I got from Target. It's a Todd Oldham one, I think.
Thanks for joining us again on the Blogger Parade of homes. We'll start off in the master bath. Our master bath is a sort of long hall that opens up towards the end when you get to the vanity. In the first bit of hall, there are closets on both walls. The left is a large walk-in closet which is where all our clothes get stored and on the right is a normal sliding-door
closet where our over-flow (seasonal stuff) and towels are stored. A diagonal wall juts out on the left leading to the throne. There are double sinks and a huge mirror directly to the back. On the right, just behind the first closet is a stall shower. That is separated by a wall from the large soaker tub which I lurve. As our house was a model, this bathroom is wall-papered. It is not pleasant wall paper. Rather looks like something you'd see in a baby's diaper … and worse still, it's dark. But after spending A whole weekend on just the kitchen which doesn't have nearly the ceiling height, I've decided to embrace this and we've accessorized with jungle objects …
Well the time has come for me to jump on the
The one thing I don't like about our kitchen is the pantry. It's that tall cabinet on the left of the stove. It is far far too deep for a pantry and so it's very hard to keep organized and clean. One thing I love about this kitchen though, is that our washer and dryer are located there (in a closet to the right of the stove).
It makes it very convenient to do laundry while we're in the kitchen or the living room. Directly above the washer and dryer, we also have cabinets and more storage above them. This is where we have our cookbook collection. Unfortunately, we seem to be running out fo space!!
