Well, we had a very nice memorial day weekend. Friday at Elitch Gardens was good fun. I rode all of the roller coasters … and only liked two of the, the old-fashioned wooden roller coaster (with no upside down) and the flying coaster which was slower and less dramatic in general. The day was a bit overcast and it tried to rain a few times, but that just mostly kept the lines pretty short and the heat at bay. After dinner and some ice cream, we attempted to watch the first X-men movie. Kelly and Matt made it, but I had to go to sleep.
Saturday, the boys went mountain biking and Holly and I took the dogs and the baby to Three Sisters for a hike. We got caught with them off-leash by a park ranger, but he was very nice and spared us a ticket. It probably helped that they were angels and came right to us. After some more miscellaneous fun, lunch, errands, Matt and I took a very tired Loki home.Sunday we got up late and ran some errands, and then we went to Boulder to see Matt's brother, Andrew. They worked on Andrew's computer and we had lunch at Red Robin.
Monday (bonus day) was spent mountain biking (we found a new spot near our house … dogs are allowed, off leash!!) and preparing for a small get together last night. We had my parents, Kelly, my uncle Ted, and Andrew over for dinner.
What a fun weekend!
That does sound like a fun weekend. Ice cream sounds great!
This is off the subject, I found this as a fun thing to do this summer on aol.
Have you and Matt been there?… Mountain Biking Crested Butte : Whether you're a beginner or an expert to the fat tire phenomenon, you'll find trails aplenty in Crested Butte Colorado. The single tracks here wind through aspen glades and across sprawling plateaus that glow when the golden hour falls. You'll also find yourself pedaling through desolate ghost towns and past abandoned mines that reveal the region's rougher past.
