Halloween Plans

Everyone in our neighborhood (it seems) has decked out their houses for the big day, but we are lagging behind as usual. I know we'll get there though.

Matt is head of the decorations committee and he will be putting up our small selection of decorations this evening and taking a *full day* off work on Friday to carve pumpkins. I don't know if I'll carve one or not, but I am perfectly capable of making suggestions. I definitely want a Hillary pumpkin on my front steps.

I am head of the food committe and I am planning a lavish feast as usual. Last year I did Halloween Supper in individual pumpkins and I am set to do the same again this year, but I'm thinking about switching up the fillings. I've seen some really interesting fillings for acorn squash, featuring wild rice, roasted nuts and dried cranberries, that I'm sure would be very tasty in the little pie pumpkins we bought last week. As for dessert, the caramel apple cupcakes Just Jenn featured last week look so awesome I just have to try them.

Mom's bringing a fruit salad, Tabby is dressing up like red riding hood and I am hoping Tabby will actually make it thru dinner and on to trick-or-treating. At least a few houses anyhow.
