She still chatters on a good amount of the time, sometimes mimicking us, especially when we say simple things like “nuh-uh” or “wow” or speaking what sounds a lot like English in inflection and cadence, but has no (or few) discernible words. But she's also picking up a bit of English here and there as well … and calls me Mama more often than she used to and says “ball” and “woof” (when referring to the dog) and “gain!” (when requesting we read something again or play a game again).
Outside is her favorite place to be and she'll point towards the door or window and drag us over there. She doesn't understand that this activity is weather permitting and is fairly perturbed when the answer is no. “No” in general is not a big hit and she will frequently burst into tears when we tell her no, even if we aren't being especially stern.
Dancing and singing are two other things she's really gotten into (this has really surprised me!). Wherever we are, she hones in on a beat and bee-bops like mad. And she also loves to mimick us when we sing to her … some of it is very close … and some is not.
She remains a good eater. She doesn't eat a ton at every meal, but she can eat quite a bit in one sitting and the variety of foods she likes is amazing. She hardly ever turns anything down. Indian food is always a bit hit, and second only to Italian.
But what I think of right now when I think of Tabby is her sweet and affectionate personality. She's always up for giving me a hug and a kiss and believe me, I'm taking all I can while I can. Who knows how long she'll be such a snuggler.
oh Jess…I love that picture She is adorable!! It's hard to believe how fast time flies. It seems strange to say that Lani will be TWO next month!!
She is so precious! That is a great picture.
Aww. I can't believe they're 14 months already. I have to do my update too, before I forget what he's accomplished this month. He's started to dance a lot too, and do this clapping like a mexican line dance. I have NO idea where he picked this up, but it's hysterical.
Tabby's photo fits your description. What a sweet little girl.
Gosh time flies doesn't it! She's just adorable…such a great pic of her.
