My partner in crime turns 34 today. We were realizing recently that we’ve been together over 15 years and are rapidly approaching the point where we’ve known each other for longer than we haven’t! WOW.
We have had quite the year with a lot of firsts – some good and some pretty terrible. Through it all, we have weathered it together with a minimum of arguing and a whole heck-of-a-lot-of team cooperation.
Throughout the house building process (a process, I will note, we had a lot of people predicting the worst for marital bliss) we have had multiple people comment on how well we work as a team and the general lack of arguing about furniture and options. It’s been fun!
And when times were super dark, Matt was my rock, so kind, caring and understanding. He loved my mom too, and seeing how much he grieved for and misses her made me love him even more.
And of course, I adore him as the father of my kiddos. I see “funny stories” all the time about clueless dads who don’t know how to get kids dressed or make breakfast or who never get up in the middle of the night. Matt is every bit the parent that I am and he has a special way of doing things that is unique and wonderful and a key part of the reason that our kids are so wonderful!
I am so very lucky to be married to this wonderful man.
