We had a really really nice Christmas. We did what we have done for years and spent Christmas Eve at my parents’ house. We let the kinds unwrap a couple of gifts, left cookies for Santa and headed to bed. In the morning, Santa had paid us a visit and so had the snow fairy!! Nothing like a White Christmas.
It’s always so much fun watching everyone unwrap their gifts.
Ben was super super into it. He got lots of Playmobil and the Skylander video game. He’s at a great age for all this.
Tabby got a barbie from Santa. Since Mommy isn’t really big on Barbies, this was a big big hit.
Tabby also received an iPod from Matt and I. It was one of those gifts I hmmed and hawed over. She really wanted a camera and since we could get her an iPod that can take photos, run games and play music, it was a pretty obvious choice. Ben was a bit miffed he didn’t get one.
But he did get glow-in-the-dark pirate underwear which was almost as good.
Matt and I were sufficiently spoiled as well. Our parents were very generous and we got (among other things), a new winter jacket (Matt), new shoes (me), new laptop bags (both of us), jewelry (me) and a new camera lens (Matt, but effectively both of us).
More importantly, we got to spend lots of time with our family. This year we had extended extended family visiting from Germany which was pretty special. It was great to see the kids play together, no language barrier when you’re running around just being kids.
So glad you had a nice Christmas!
