Miss Tabby is 7 months old today. I don't want to do these retrospectives too often because I want to have new things to say each time, but so much has happened in the past month, that I really thought I should recap. At Tabby's 6 month checkup, we got the go-ahead to give her pretty much everything we eat. And that's exactly what we're doing. She's sampled everything from butternut squash soup to scallops and has been very receptive to almost everything. She is to be seen feeding herself fruit from her basket or a cracker, but we have had no success with the sippy cup yet. And speaking of food, we've suspected for a while that she was capable of holding her own bottle, and recently she's proven us right, especially when we're not going quite fast enough for her. She is happy to grab her bottle and have a drink. Not that this replaces having a snuggly bottle at bedtime with us.
In the physical realm, she is now sitting unassisted with no problems, though she's frequently a lot more interested in trying to stand. I think she can see better that way. But her favorite past time of all is playing in her jumperoo. She can play happily there for as long as 45 minutes, giggling like mad, especially if someone is nearby, talking to her and laughing with her. She is a very social baby and so far is very interested in meeting new people, but it absolutely melts our hearts when she reaches out for Mommy or Daddy.
Language wise, there are no words that we have heard her consistently say. We keep thinking we hear this or that … “No”, “E-I-E-I-O”, “uh-oh”, etc. and a couple of times, I think she's signed Daddy, Mommy or Loki to us, but it's very hard to discern at first. But for now, we're very much enjoying her nonsense words, coos and giggles.
We love her so much and are so proud of her and are so loving watching all these developments and milestones.
My goodness. She is growing so fast! She is so adorable!
Have you been able to give her like, egg yolks and stuff yet? I've been wanting to try him out on some stuff, but it calls for eggs etc, and I'm kind of leary, even though he's got no cause for food allergies as he's never exhibited any previously and eats pretty much anything, and neither of us has any food allergies.
The Mini also loves his jumperoo and will bounce to his hearts content. He does it pretty well in his exersaucer. I suspect that he may not crawl at all, seeing as how he doesn't really express a whole lot of interest, and if he's anything like me, walking at 9 months, I'm screwed. He definitely has no interest in holding his own bottle. I've seen him do it maybe a handful of times, but if he catches on that I'm not holding it, he lets go. Lazy that one. Though, he does hold his own cup 85% of the time and does try to feed himself with a spoon. He hasn't reached out for us yet. I wish he would. That and the talking. We've heard nothing but oooooooooooh's. Nary a babble.
But he does laugh like pee wee herman. And mimmicks me when I make a grunting noise. Kids man. They're a riot. It's crazy we're 5 months off from a year, isn't it?
It seems like just yesterday you were awaiting Tabby's arrival. Really…the 7 months have flown.
omg she is so cute… but double check with your peds doc… we were told not to give Lore any sea food till she was at least 2 if not later… something about not enough teeth, bones, and allergies… lol… but look at those cheeks!!
ooh…She is simply adorable!!
She's so pretty! She's smart too, what a good girlie you have there.
