I have been getting up at 5 AM every morning to go to our community work out center (this, incidentally, has made me realize that our pediatrician lives in our neighborhood, but that's a story for a different time). I really have enjoyed doing this for a number of reasons … but one of the things I have enjoyed most is feeling the cooler temperatures early in the morning. It makes me forget for a while that by 4 PM when I leave work that my steering wheel will burn me and my short sleeved blouse will feel like too much clothing. It is brisk and lovely.
I am very much looking forward to fall. Not just for the cooler weather (though that will be nice), but also for what it brings. I am looking forward to bringing out the jackets and scarves. I am looking forward to the food that comes with fall. I am looking eagerly forward to weekends that aren't crammed with events. I am looking forward to beautiful fall colors. I am looking forward to a slower life.
We didn't like living in WI at all. We joke that we were freezing cold for two years straight. But what we look back fondly upon is what being house-bound did for us. We read tons of books, played games together and cooked all the time. And that slower pace of life was really nice … at least some of the time.
Hah funny. Looking back I'm thinking that I will miss Summer. It was a bit slower paced. Didn't have all those TV shows to follow. Watched rented films, tivod and saw friends. But will welcome the cooler weather.
Isn't it funny that it is very easy for me to imagine exercise at 1AM but 5 AM makes my head spin…go figure
I'm not a WI kinda girl either….I always thought I wanted to live in Vermont until I got the truth about the snow up there
Autumn is *gorgeous* out here in upstate New York, and I can't wait for that. Lots of picture-taking! And fall food … that's totally my favorite. Honeycrisp apples, apple cider donuts … mmm! And of course, Merry Bear's birthday! Fall is fun!
I like the fall. I'm not sure if things are really slower for me as I'll be busy back in school! But my birthday is in the fall and I do like the cool, crisp weather and the changing of the leaves. And, though I do like the snow, I'm a little nervous about this winter. Our house is in the mountains and we have a long, windy driveway thats in desparate need of repaving. Did I mention that a snow blower is on our list (along with a lawn mower)? LOL
By the way, Eric will be in Denver the weekend of Sept. 15th to cover a Raiders game (as a side thing, he writes for raidersfans.net). Wish I could go to but I can't complain–we'll be in San Fran the weekend before for a game as well!
