UPDATED
Been wanting this book for a while. Saw it in a store in Los Gatos while shopping with mom on vacation … it was 20% off so I bought it. Loads of excellent projects … looking forward to doing a few.
Minutes after I bought the book, we went into a really cool quilt store called Natural Expressions. They had the most amazing fabrics and I wanted to buy out the whole store, but I didn't let myself. I'll have to find a quilt store in Denver. Had no idea how much better a selection they have. I yammer on pretty much constantly about Everyday Food and how much I love it. Well the week before we went on vacation, we tried one of their days-of-the-week meals sections where they put the grocery list and then 5 recipes from it. We liked all of the recipes we tried (we only made four because we were too busy getting ready for our trip to do the last one) and we loved 3 out of the 4. We're doing another one this week and so far, we've had 1/1 winners. Yay. Here's the winners from the past 2 weeks:
* Roasted Salmon with Lemon Relish
* Pasta with Goat Chese and Roasted Asparagus
* Lamb Chops with Pistachio sauce and Vegetable Saute
* London Broil with Crispy Potatoes and Peppers
San Fran was the trip for lunch boxes. In addition to the two I bought for Tabby, I also bought myself a tiffin. I didn't realize until I got home that it was the same one in the photo from my blog on tiffins from January. Weird. I have delusions of grandeur thinking of what I'll pack for lunch in the cute little compartments.
Donna took me to large bead store in Berkeley. I restrained myself great, but I bought some cool pendants because I had never seen anything like them before. The designer is Green Girl Studios. Checked out their website and they've got some amazing stuff … not just pendants, but some really neat paintings too.
Thought of two three more things!
1. Eka mentioned Steep and Cheap the other day … it's sort of a continuous Woot-off with outdoorsy gear – amazing deals from what i've seen so far
2. MidnightBox.com is another woot-style site but I haven't been able to find out too much about them … anyone know?
3. When I was watching Martha the other day, she had a cool hole punch that looked like an exacto knife and worked more like a drill than a regular punch (no max distance from page's edge if you see what I mean) but now I can't find it on her craft site. anyone??
I noticed the picture from the lunchbox and thought to myself hey that's the same cute lunchbox she mentioned. I have the same dillusions too. LOL. I am keeping a list of th eplaces you visited so if I ever get to San Fran I wil visit them too. Glad you were able to find Simple Sewing.
Love those cute lunch boxes!
Also…go to my blog…I tagged you!
I want one of those tiffins!
I think I would've gone crazy at the bead store. I always buy some then end up not making anything.
