We have acquired quite a few Munchkin-brand products both as gifts and as items we've purchased and I've been very impressed with them. They seem to make the useful sort of things that “real moms” need. We have a duck that tells us if bathwater is too hot (color-changing HOT on the bottom), a drying rack for bottles, an on-the-go formula dispenser and a diaper bag dispenser. You can find most of their stuff at Target.
Anyone out there been to (or live in) Australia? It's the front-runner for our “big trip” this year and we're trying to figure out cool things to do and how we'd structure our trip. It's such a big country!Martha is one of the shows I Tivo … I frequently watch it while I nurse Tabitha. It is made infinitely better by Tivo because I can skip the segments that bore me. Last week they had Martha's daughter, Alexis, and her co-host on the Sirius radio program called Whatever, Jennifer every day for little segments. Alexis comes across as possibly one of the most rude and judgemental people I've ever seen. She was constantly belittling everything Jennifer did with this holier-than-thou attitude that really got under my skin. Her hair also bugs me (speaking of judgemental ).
My great-aunt Dorothy was in town last night and my parents hosted a get-together. I made Jambalaya Bourbon Bread Pudding. I had forgotten how amazingly good it is. Link is below.
I luv the internet. Matt needs new tennies. I want him to get ones with bungie ties because he's got an OCD thing where he reties his shoes all the time … bungies would save both of us many many seconds a day (hehe). We were having trouble finding shoes for him, paticularly in his size. Zappos is sending us two pairs … via 1-day mail … for free (the shipping anyhow – I had to pay for the shoes). Wheee!!
I took Tabby in to be weighed when I went to the OB for my 6-wk checkup. In approx 4 weeks, she gained 2 lbs, 3 oz. or about 35 oz in 28 days. She also slept from 11 PM – 5 AM last night. She might've gone longer, but I had to get her up to nurse her before work.
Not sure if I mentioned this before, but Matt's mom got me a point and shoot camcorder for Christmas. I used it to shoot a short video of Matt playing “Tabby's Nose” with her. It came out very cute. I might have to put it on You Tube.
I like your long posts they are really informative. Glad Tabitha is doing well. Australia is one of places I would like to visit so I will be eagerly reading through those posts when you return. Good luck with planning it. Thanks for all the cool links.
Are those Salomons? We just got ours the other day and absolutely LOVE them!
testing… testing … work, comments, work!
PS – yes those are the salomons … i got Matt two different pairs … hope he likes one of them! i have the pink ones like them and i love them!
We have a few Munchkin products too….the duck, and a little light that goes in her crib that we've never used.
Australia? Wow, you are definately braver than me. I'd be freaking out about traveling that far with a baby.
Thank you for the recipe. I HAVE to try that.
We holidayed in Australia when M was four months old. We rented a carseat (called a baby capsule there, looks funky but is ingenius), a stroller (pushchair), and a porta-cot (aka PnP) from a company called Babe for Hire. We mostly spent time in Victoria (drove the Great Ocean Road, toured a few vinyards, toured wildlife santuaries). We did go to Sydney, and saw the opera house, the acquarium, art galleries, checked out Bondi Beach, and ate truly divine gelato. Madeline did her baby thing – looking around in her stroller or Bjorn, or napping. I breastfed everywhere and no one batted an eye. In fact, every one grinned instead. It was a very comfortable place to travel with little ones. Disposable diapers in Australia only have the weight by kilos on the packages, so I had to do a little conversion …
