What We've Been Up To

Matt made the mistake of getting a new video game a couple weeks back and we've been playing it incessantly. It's the latest title in the Final Fantasy series and like all titles from this series it features scantily clad extremely feminie heroines and even more scantily clad feminine-looking heroes, a mish-mash of technology (teleportation, but no email) and of course fights with creatures who resemble anything from tomatoes to the Hindu god vishnu in wall form (don't ask). It's only a 1-player game, but someone has to read the map, damnit, which makes it a great game to play together. Yea, we're nerds.Matty is feeling ill, poor guy. He's got a sore throat and a bunch of congestion, etc. I left him at home today with strict orders to sleep as much as possible and work as little as possible. I'm trying very hard not to get sick because 1) I have hardly any personal (i.e. vacation or sick) days left and was really hoping to use them for good, not evil and 2) I can't take any good drugs so sick is especially miserable.

Christmas shopping is actually coming on fairly well, despite the fact that we've only purchased a handful of gifts. We pretty much know what we're getting for everyone. And my main stress will be getting it all here in time and wrapping it. I also need to do xmas cards. The last two years have featured a photo of our family (us and the dog) somewhere and I'd like to do that again if I can only find an appropriate location and some appropriate attire.
