Well I finally added a couple of crock pot recipes to the cookbook. In fact, I gave them their own recipe. I have at least one more to add … the one for red beans and rice … as soon as I can find the dern thing. Matt is starting another one this morning so dinner will be all ready when I get home. Yay.
We had a pretty nice weekend. I spent Fri afternoon with Kelly doing random things including taking Loki to the dog park so he could have a swim (in 40 degree weather, no less) and manically chase balls until he was dry … and then playing Rockstar Games' (the fine folks who gave us Grand Theft Auto) new game, Bully. Matt took off a bit early and joined us. We met up with my parents and my dad's brother for pizza at a great place in Lousville which I shall add to the travelog soon.Saturday we burried my grandma. It was what you would expect … sad, poignant. A bit anti-climatic since we'll have a memorial for her at the end of the month when more people can be present.
Afterwards we had a reception at my parents house. Then while I napped, Matt and Kelly fixed my parents wireless network with a trip to Comp USA and some troubleshooting time. After my nap and some more time had passed, we went out to Famous Dave's for a very nice BBQ dinner. My mom's mom spent the whole day with us and it was great to be with her.
Sunday was all-consumed by errand running, and laundry, plus a bit of organizing in Matt's wood shop. We had friends over for dinner and that was the weekend!
Sounds like a pretty nice weekned for you too. Funny about the dog park. We found one at the park we took a walk in. We've been to that park before but never noticed. But we don't have a doggy to let it have a swim in. The only dog we know is afraid of water. Mmm Famous Dave's.
That's the exact crockpot that we have [the one in the picture!]. Hope you're feeling better these days … ahhh, how I remember the nights of insomnia when I was pregnant. *sigh* Now I have insomnia for another reason … a 7 pound, 4 ounce reason! haha
