I am a huge fan of Google's photo management software, Picasa. But sadly, it was always lacking a little web cool. It just sat there on your computer, not interacting with the rest of the world … and as we all know, there's such great potential for that, especially with photos. Well in their latest upgrade, Google has added the capacity to upload your photo albums to the web … but the upgrade is sort of lacking. What would have been the best scenario is if Picasa automatically synched your local and remote albums…. this is not the case. You upload your album and it transfers titles and captions, but then if you make a change to a local caption or photo, none of these changes is propogated to the server. That's sort of a bummer. They also limit you to a measley 250 MB worth of storage. That will hardly hold my photos from one trip! An extra 6 GB will run you $25/year which is an OK value, I suppose …
I'm glad they're at least headed in the right direction anyhow.
