Labor Day Weekend

Yesterday, Loki was lucky enough to get a play date with the admirable FeBe. FeBe is a chocolate lab. Our friends, Mike and Holly belong to her. Holly brought her over to our house and then she and Matt and I rode our bikes around Standley Lake while the doggies chased us. Loki always wants to be with the leader. FeBe always goes back to check on the straggler. When we took breaks, they got to swim in the water.

This is the Northern edition of what Mike and Holly refer to as the Puppy Triathalon (you bike, your dog runs and swims). By the time we got back to our house, Loki and FeBe were a couple of very tired dogs. And I can't speak for FeBe, but Loki was content to nap the rest of the day.
The rest of the weekend was just as busy. I got of work early on Friday (due to some late nights I'd had to take earlier in the week) and I went home to see Matt and Loki. Matt got off early too (for the same reason), so he and Loki and I had a puppy triathalon around Standley Lake. Matt and I then went and ran beau coup errands and spent the rest of the night in, watching Stargate and hanging out.

Saturday, I met up with my mom, sister, Holly and her friend, Kim, and we went to the Paris Street Market we had a great time shopping. I got some clothes (at J.Jill, not at the market) and two necklaces and a pair of earrings, which I LOVE. They're so cute. After shopping, Holly, Kim and I went and got pedicures. I sorely needed one and now my toesies are purple and awesome looking. Matt, awesome hubby that he is, spent the day cleaning the house and putting up shelves in our bathroom. When I got home, we called up my sis and she came and met us and we went and got sushi! We also decided, for sure, that we were going to hit Waterworld on Sunday.

So Sunday, bright and early (9:30) we headed off for WaterWorld and spent a great day playing in the water. They have a really cool ride where you get in a raft and go down a series of tubes and then into a spiral, so it's sort of like being flushed down the toilet. That was awesome. That evening, Matt and I finally met all of our neighbors at our block party. We now know practically everyone around us and we've got lots of great neighbors … we also found someone to mow our grass!

Yesterday was the FeBe&Loki playdate. That afternoon, I had a bad headache and took a nap. It didn't really let up, but Matt made me dinner and we watched s'more Stargate. All-in-all an awesome weekend.
