Well, after all the excitement of closing was over, we had to move … we'd scheduled with a company to move at 9 AM on Saturday. At 10 they still weren't there. It turned out that they'd neglected to put us on the schedule (?!). So we (Matt) called around and found another moving company to come get our stuff. Of course, all of this made us majorly delayed and so by the time our stuff was geting loaded into the house, it was time to head off to my aunt's 40th b'day party, so we had Andrew, Matt's brother, come over and wait with the movers while we went to the party. The party was loads of fun. My aunt is one of those unbelievable 40 year olds … in that she doesn't look even close to 40. We should all be so lucky. We had good food, good drink, and most importantly, great people. By the end of the night, I was hoarse … the sign of a truly great party.
Yesterday we got up relatively early and did some running around. We had to pick up the sort of stuff that you need when you move into a new house (especially from an apartment) … stepladders. light bulbs, baskets … and so on. Then we unpacked!!!!! With my mom's help in about 9 hours we managed to make it look sort of like somewhere you'd like to live.
Our big objective was to get it so that May could come stay. She had been with my parents and pacing and acting agitated and she's so old that we didn't want to unduly upset her, so we made the downstairs pretty good … but of course, there's still a ton to do. I'm really looking forward to it though!!
