About

Welcome to Jesser – home of me, Jess! I’m a 30-something from the Denver area. By day, I direct all things marketing for a commercial contractor (construction company). It’s a super fun mix of crazy creativity, client relationships and data geekery. After hours I mostly spend time with the great people in my life, my husband, Matt, our two kiddos, our labradoodle, Cocoa, and an amazing group of extended family and amazing friends.

Being Coloradans, we’re very interested in the outdoors and spend our summers hiking/camping/backpacking and our winters skiing. We also love to travel and when we’re home, Matt is an avid woodworker and I love cooking, photography and making things.

This blog is many things: a repository for my favorite recipes, to share the things I enjoy in life and a place for me to ruminate on everything from my favorite books to being a business leader.

  1. Dear Jess,
I stumbled onto your blog this morning while looking for my cousin’s family site.
I am James Jesser. I grew up in Fort Collins, where most of my family still lives. I am just wondering about your possible connection to us. My great-grandparents, John and Margaret, were Germans from Russia that came to Colorado around 1900 and settled in Fort Collins. My grandfather, Frank H., came from a large family, 9 siblings. We have lost contact with most of that family. His oldest brother, John and wife Gertrude, settled in Wisconsin. If you or your husband are interested in family history, it would be nice to figure out the connection.
I teach in a 2 room public country school. In South Dakota we fight consoldation. I have 22 students in grades Kindergarten to grade 3.
I look forward to hearing from you.

    1. Hello James, and Jess~
I decided to google Jesser and came across this site, and James your post.
Jess I was interested when I saw you were in, or from, Colorado, as I am too from Colorado.
I would be interested in being in contact with both of you, and seeing if perhaps our family trees are connected. There is a relative in my family more knowledgeable than I who I can consult with, which I’ve always wanted to do more of anyway..:) Too, back in the late 1990’s, or early 2000’s (I can’t remember) my family held a family reunion with extended Jessers (who we didn’t know) to see of possible relations. I can look into this as well.
I’m thrilled to come across this post, and look forward to hearing back.
      Sincerely,
      Sarah
